Amy made today's appealing card that features the technique of masking. Amy stamped the butterfly on a piece of scrap paper (I always use post-it notes to make life easier) and carefully cut out the image right on the edge to create the "mask". Next, she stamped the butterfly image in Baja Breeze and Cameo Coral inks onto the white card stock. The butterfly mask was then placed over the Baja Breeze butterfly and the Basic Gray butterfly was stamped so that the wings overlapped the mask. The mask was then removed & this makes it appear that the gray butterfly is behind the blue one. The mask was then moved on top of the coral butterfly and butterfly stamping was done with So Saffron & Basic Gray inks before removing it. The stamped butterflies were then matted on So Saffron card stock that was punched at the edge with the slit punch. This created a convenient spot to anchor the white card stock to the mat. A flat-back pearl from the Pretties kit was added to the semi-circle with a mini-glue dot. Basic gray card stock was used to create the body of the card. Gray "Walk in the Park" DSP, which coordinates perfectly with the pattern of the stamped butterflies was matted on Cameo Coral card stock and glued to the left side of the card. The butterfly panel was then glued to the left side of the card. A small Baja Breeze piece of card stock was stamped with "for you" in Basic gray ink and glued toward the bottom edge of the DSP panel. Beautiful job!
