Card Of The Day:
Saturday - May 23, 2009
Here's the pop-up surprise that's found inside yesterday's featured card. The Big Shot was used with both So Saffron card stock & "Walk in the Park" DSP and the pop-up cake die. This whole thing was assembled according to the instructions supplied with the die. It's important to use Sticky Strip or some other very strong die to attach all the pieces of the cake together. The bottom of the card has a piece of white card stock glued down that has "Summer Love" rub-ons added to the left side. A piece of DSP was added to the bottom of the card after punching the top edge with the eyelet border punch. A piece of Cameo Coral card stock was punched out with the scallop oval punch and set aside. A scrap of white card stock was used to attach the framed coral "smile" rub-on to. This was then punched out with the large oval punch and then glued down on the coral scallop oval punch-out. This element was adhered to the bottom right of the card with 2 Stampin' dimensionals. 2 butterflies were made for the cake topper (see yesterday's card for instructions) & cut out with Paper snips. The assembled cake was then carefully aligned and adhered to the card with yet even more Sticky Strip. I can see that this die would come in handy to create a beautiful wedding cake inside a wedding card. I'll have to tackle that idea when I get a little spare time!
